The owners were very interested in a high quality contractor to remodel their existing home. They reached out to us to build a guest suite addition to their home. The project required remodeling the existing garage into a new two bedroom, half bathroom, and utility room guest suite. The addition was tot the back of the home, roughly 890 SF split between a new guest suite and new garage area. The design was blended into the existing structure and provided a nice area for the Becks to host guests. Artifex Performed all tasks including: foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, tiling, flooring, drywall, stucco, and roofing.

The original layout home was very comfortable for the Beck family; however, they found it tough to accommodate for their guests without the proper sleeping arrangements. Their dream was to have a getaway for friends and family, thus wanted guest suites added to the home. Their concept was to expand on the West side of their home and give all this space to their potential guests. The idea was to convert the existing garage into livable space and move the garage further out. Most of the finishes matched the existing home; however, what stood out the most were the cabinets, countertops, and tile in the bathrooms. A new sun tunnel skylight provides natural light to the hallway.

Floor Plan

The existing garage was renovated into a livable space with two guest bedrooms, a laundry room, mud room, and two full bathrooms incorporated into the space. The main hallway gave you access to the backyard of the home through the mudroom, and access to the one and a half new bathrooms and two new guest bedrooms. At the very end of the hallway is the new garage and guest suite. The guest suite has access to its own full bathroom and the patio in the backyard. Each bathroom has a large shower with custom tile work.

My husband and I live in a 3,200 square foot house with our two sons. We wanted to remodel our entire home. That included the master bath, master bedroom, kitchen, dining room and adding two master walk-in closets. We were unsure of which builder to use. Then we were referred to Artifex by some friends who had just used them to build a second story addition.

I was skeptical but after talking to them we decided to go ahead with the project. They did an amazing job and our house turned out better then we first imagined. The job turned out to be bigger then we first planned because we made several changes. Artifex was really helpful during the changes. Our house really looks great!

Thank you for your efforts in our bathroom remodel. The project was completed in a timely fashion and was on budget. We were off a bit on the big window, but you were able to get what we wanted for a fair price and it turned out great. I needed to install a washer/dryer in one of my bathrooms. Artifex did the job very quickly and it cost less than my usual contractor’s bid. The shower was removed and the washer/dryer replaced it. They also converted the bathtub into a shower/bathtub. The workmanship is excellent and we really liked the craftsman they sent out.

I’ve been a paraplegic for 35 years and use a wheelchair. During this time I have made do with standard bathrooms. As I’ve grown older it has become more difficult to get by without an accessible bathroom.

I hired Artifex to make my bathroom accessible. They did an excellent job in redoing / renovating / remodeling my existing bathroom into an accessible bathroom. In so doing, Artifex accomplished this without making my bathroom look like a hospital or convalescent home. The space looks like a high end hotel bathroom while still meeting the needs of a wheelchair. The space works equally well for my wife who is able-bodied. After all these years of making do, it is nice to be able to move and shower easily in this space.

The work Artifex did not only improves the quality of my life, but looks outstanding. A fine combination of form and function.
