The owner reached out to Artifex in search of a quality and reliable construction company. We handled every part of the project while allowing for the owner to design their own dream project. To speed up the project, we broke the project down into phases: the 1st Phase was all the site work (driveway, flatwork, landscaping, CMU walls, etc.) and the 2nd Phase was an entire home remodel. The exterior site remodel included everything from a new driveway and landscaping to Artifex performed all of the tasks including: laying pavers, framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, tiling, etc.

Before and After
The original Lisiak home had various problems interior and exterior. The home sits on the bluffs of Pismo beach which started to cause problems in the bluff stabilization, but the site problems didn’t end there. The overgrown landscaping made it impossible to navigate the driveway which already depicted drainage issues as well. The entire site remodel included bluff stabilization, driveway re-pavement, clear cut and replace landscaping, install new security system, gate, and landscape lighting, building three terraces and BBQ area, and framing the rear deck. The interior renovation was done to modernize the kitchen, doors, windows, and bathrooms. The kitchen remodel incorporated brand new cabinets with a black galaxy granite countertop and stainless-steel appliances throughout.
Floor Plan
The floor plan was not modified, besides the addition of a full bathroom. The two existing bathrooms were modernized and reflected the ocean feel of the site. The site work though was extensive and brought the house to life. There were now multiple areas to host guests at such as the new terraces, the new BBQ area, or even the rear deck. The driveway was now accessible, drained properly by using permeable pavers, and well protected with the gate and security system. And finally, the landscaping makes the site pop out to visitors, or even neighbors!
Construction Timeline for this Pismo Beach Remodel
The Remodel finished up before the Summer of 2012, but the Lisiak family requested Artifex to work on other projects of theirs since then due to Artifex’s impeccable craftsmanship.
We have two properties that are constantly under renovation. I have tried other contractors in the past but now only use Artifex for all my construction projects. We have very high standards; they do superb work and give us exactly what we ask for.
